Project Backpack 2014

What is this all about?

For the 7th consecutive year, we are hosting a back-to-school block party called Project Backpack! The event will take place on Saturday, August 9th from 10:30am-1:00pm!
We are going to be teaming up with the Boys and Girls Club of Lee County and the Renaissance Preserve Housing Community to empower the next generation in that community! We are going to be partnering with parents by providing the kids of our downtown communities with backpacks and school supplies for the school year. There are many children in our downtown communities that will not have the necessary supplies this upcoming school year. But we can do something about that! We are going to not only bring backpacks and supplies but we are going to bring hope as we serve with the love of Jesus!
Here are other great attractions for the day:
  • Free Food & Drinks
  • Bounce Houses
  • Arts and Crafts
  • A Reading Area
  • Basketball
  • Games and other activities
  • Opportunities to connect with individual families and kids!

How Can I Get Involved?

There are several different ways to volunteer for this event. We are going to need volunteers distributing backpacks, in the concession area, running the games and activities, bounce houses, etc. Click the link below to sign up to volunteer!

When should I be there?

We are asking all volunteers to arrive at 9:00am to help setup for the event.
We will have a volunteer rally at 10:00am and will kick off the event shortly after!
